If there’s one person worth mentioning, it’s gotta be Shelley (now that's Shelley with and E =). She’s been with Legacy for what… 8-9 years now? Since the early days when we were just starting out. Back when the gym was kinda grimy and she still stuck around...

Shelley saw something in Legacy, and we definitely saw something in her. Super coachable, hard-working, and always showed up ready to put in the work. I still remember those brutal 30-minute warmups back in the day, she rarely complained, just took it all in and loved every second of the grind.

Over the years she’s done it all, Shelley has stepped up for an in-house demo match with a teammate, went off to train in Thailand at multiple gyms, helped behind the scenes as our WAKO/MTO ambassador, cornered fighters (even overseas), and even got deep into BJJ.

And now? She’s transitioned into coaching muay thai and absolutely killing it. Her technical eye, attention to detail, and ability to explain things clearly, it’s on another level. I have learned a lot just watching you. There’s a reason why Shelley was picked to lead our Fundamentals and Women’s Muay Thai classes. She's just one of the best to ever come through our doors.

Along with everything she does at Legacy, she also works full-time in a professional setting, a mom to 2 young ladies and a wife, and somehow still finding that time to show up for her own training and to coach our team.

She's super dependable, always on point, good with editing documents and memorizing important dates...but most importantly, just a genuinely good and honest human being.

Legacy’s very fortunate to have you.

Rob is the head coach of Island Top Team and one of the most respected minds in modern BJJ (ask @jozefchenjj .
